What’s the best way to allow page editors to easily navigate large numbers of templates? [closed]

Working with a client who wants to forego Gutenberg’s block editor, and simply wants to be able to switch between a large number of predefined templates in the old editor. I’m concerned that the number of templates we’re creating will be overwhelming for page editors to scroll through and select if/when they want to create a new page.

Is there a standard practice for helping editors navigate templates in page creation?
